NSW: Brothers blame conspiracy for gang rape conviction

Four brothers who gang raped two Sydney teenagers have been sentenced to a total of
70 years jail between them.

But one of their victims says she's not overly satisfied with the sentences.

Two of the brothers were sentenced in the New South Wales Supreme Court today to 22
years each behind bars, the other two to 16 and 10 years.

A jury found the four men guilty late last year of nine counts each of aggravated sexual
assault in company.

The rapes occurred at their family home in Ashfield on July the 28th, 2002.

Another man, known only as RS, was also convicted over the incident but committed suicide
in jail last week.

After the sentence was read out the 19-year-old brother, known only as MRK, put his
head in his hands and wept.

His brother, known as MAK, stood up and proclaimed the four men's innocence.

He said the police set them up because they're Muslims.
