Vic: Woman escapes house fire

MELBOURNE, Aug 7 AAP - A woman has escaped a fire that severely damaged her house in
Melbourne's outer west overnight.

The woman, 65, was treated by ambulance crews for minor smoke inhalation from the fire,
which broke out in her home in Lawson Road, Melton South, about 9.15pm (AEST), Country
Fire Authority spokesman Scott Hamilton said.

She was the sole occupant of the house.

The fire took about 40 minutes to control, and caused about $150,000 in damage to the
single-storey brick veneer house.
